Web2's AI Infra is frantically building moats and fighting fiercely for the market, while Web3's AI is still defining the engine.

First of all, I would like to thank @MoonbeamNetwork Foundation for sponsoring the tickets, which allowed me, a "super i" socially anxious BD, to sneak into MBS's Super AI Week.

As a community volunteer for @DataHaven_xyz , the second entrepreneurial project of the @MoonbeamNetwork team , I gave myself a "data verification BD" perspective and observed the real popularity of "AI + Web3".

The entire event was a true collision of the Web2 & Web3 worlds. An intuitive comparison: the ways of adding contact information are completely different:

  • Web2 will ask you to scan the QR code on the conference card, add LinkedIn or WhatsApp

  • Web3 projects all have a unified opening line: "Add Telegram?" This is simply a code to identify "our own people"

Web2 AI companies communicate very efficiently in booths, and almost all of them come with a complete pitch process:

- Briefly introduce the product scenario

- Demonstrate workflow or demo

- Collect visitor information and schedule the next meeting on the spot (usually to demonstrate the product demo required by potential customers)

Their goal is clear: to find B2B customers in the cryptocurrency industry

For example, PaloAlto, Boomi, Cisco, Byteplus (which mainly promotes the overseas version of "Doubao AI"), etc., can provide professional answers and operational data for almost every scenario - from large models to data governance, verification, security, and agent calls.

Web3's AI projects are more focused on building the infra layer:

The main Agent framework or L1/L2 mainnets are generally scheduled to be launched this year. (I suddenly realized that DataHaven is also planning to launch the mainnet in Q4. I have found my fellow friends!)

The composition of the staff explaining in the booth was also very different:

  • Most of the speakers for Web2 are product managers, DevRels, or front-line engineers. They can answer any questions, especially explaining the technical details clearly.

  • Web3 is often led by founders or core members, who are good at expressing vision and narrative, and are more willing to explore areas for cooperation.

  • I particularly remember two very eye-catching booths:

@ManusAI_HQ : The founder personally came to the platform. Manus is now fully open and is especially friendly to students. You can unlock rich functions by registering with an edu email address. No wonder it is so popular.

Yushu Technology + Partner Cluster: Robots and robot dogs are still the hottest in the whole venue. Even the boss of AUKI said: "Bringing dogs to the exhibition is one of the best marketing methods in my opinion~."

The keywords most often heard on booth are: security, integrity control, and low latency.

Usually, I would ask, “Have you considered on-chain verification?” The other party would pause and say, “Interesting…”

The number of side events is slightly less than that of Token 2049, so you don’t have to rush to attend them, but each one is quite informative and has a strong social atmosphere. Even the panelists have to remind you to “be quiet for a while”.

I have to say that @virtuals_io 's event was very popular: the scene gathered developers full of ideas, as well as users who were looking for insider info. The whole atmosphere was open, friendly, and real, with a strong sense of community.

The biggest feeling after participating in this event is:

  • Web2's AI Infra is frantically building moats and fiercely competing in the market

  • Web3’s AI is still in the process of defining the engine. Perhaps because of this, the builder has a broader imagination space? ?

If you enjoy early-stage exploration and participation, the "pitfalls" of Web3 AI are worth it, haha!
