Watr Protocol won Polkadot's 27th Parachain Slot Auction.
Polkadot’s 28th Parachain Slot Auction ended at around 3 am on September 25. OAK Network won the auction.
The Polkadot 74 referendum is being voted on, which aims to open the HRMP channel between the second batch of parachains and Statemint.
The Polkadot 75 referendum is being voted through, which upgrades the runtime of the Polkadot relay chain to v9820.
The Polkadot Council passed Motion 261, which upgrades the Polkadot runtime to v9280.
The Polkadot Council is voting on Motion 262, a motion proposed by YieldBay seeking treasury funding to develop an aggregation platform to find and list liquidity pools and mining across the ecosystem.
The Polkadot Council is voting on Motion 263, which seeks to provide maintenance costs for dot.alert(). This is a knowledge base that provides practical guidance for securely managing assets across the ecosystem, ranging from crypto and blockchain regulatory security topics in different jurisdictions, to operations focused on risk management and more.
The Polkadot Council is voting on Motion 264, a motion to fund future work on NaN, a custom open-source user interface font for the Polkadot digital product ecosystem. Following the launch of Unbounded (the first open-source, free, and on-chain funded font), NaN reworked their proposal based on council feedback a few weeks ago, adjusting the scope of work and further developing the Polkadot-branded assets.
There are also several proposals under discussion:
1. Bitgreen, Sequester, and Evercity propose to develop a real-time estimate and report of carbon emissions across Polkadot and Kusama networks. The electricity consumption and carbon emissions of each parachain are measured with real-time periodicity and verifiable accuracy through an open-source dashboard. The full proposal with budget, deliverables and general vision can be found here.
2. The second proposal of Sequester aims to create a public interest chain on Polkadot - Sequester, which provides aggregated transaction fees, converts them into carbon-backed tokens, and eliminates basic carbon offsets that comply with community norms. More information on the technical details of the proposal can be found in the Polkaassembly post.
3. There is also a treasury proposal to hold the first NFT exhibition at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on the theme of "Human beings in harmony with themselves and life" and demonstrate the power of new forms of expression and new technologies on the Polkadot network .
4. A team organized the largest encryption conference UTXO.22 in the Czech Republic. As Polkadot and its ecosystem were such a big part of the conference and the event was a huge success, the team is currently applying for sponsorship from the Polkadot Treasury.
5. A coalition of teams (Parity, Astar, Acala, Parallel, Nodle, Zeitgeist, Oak, Phala, Polkahaus, Manta) decided to organize the Polkadot Summit during the San Francisco Blockchain Week in November, aiming to publicize the latest developments in the Polkadot network.
Chainsafe published a proposal to continue developing Gossamer to provide the functionality needed to bring true client diversity to the Polkadot ecosystem.
On September 22, the Parity team held the BeyondTheChain event in London to share the architecture of the Unstoppable application.Kusama’s 53rd Parachain Slot Auction ended around 11 am on September 26, and UNIQUE’s pioneer network QUARTZ led the entire candle period.

The Kusama Council passed Motion 544, which funds community members to translate all Polkadot Decoded 2022 videos into Spanish.
Kusama Council passed Motion 545, which tops up Bounty #12 proposed by WagMedia. Since the Motion was submitted externally, after the Council passed it, a referendum is required to make the final decision.
The Kusama council passed Motion 546, which upgrades the Statemine runtime to v9271. A community vote is currently underway as referendum 232.

3. Sub.ID publishes a treasury proposal, seeking to provide quick and easy access to all Substrate addresses, balances, and other assets in one place. The goal is to include functionality for collator and validator staking, a staking dashboard, crowdloan claim functionality, and cross-chain transfers.
4. A proposal to develop a Polkadot Search indexer and RPC terminal, aiming to centralize all Kusama ecosystem information in one place for advanced indexing.
5. OnFinality publishes proposals seeking views on whether the Treasury should continue to fund public infrastructure. If the Exchequer wishes to continue funding public infrastructure, OnFinality will remain the status quo. But if the treasury wants the public good infrastructure to start funding its own operations, OnFinality needs to shift the cost from the treasury to the community.
6. Fearless released a follow-up proposal, which focuses on Chrome and Mozilla's browser extension applications, Windows desktop applications, including asset, wallet and network management processes, dApp connector logic support, etc. More information, budget, roadmap and milestones for the proposal can be found here.
7. After the successful completion of the previous treasury proposal, Cervera is seeking feedback on its follow-up treasury proposal, seeking further funding for the production and development of 64 Spanish educational video tutorials, with the goal of expanding the playlist on Kusama, explaining further features and each Weekly governance update.
