V God discusses "Personality Bio-Features Proof": There is no ideal form, but it can be combined with different method paradigms.
Odaily News: Ethereum co-founder V God (Vitalik Buterin) today published an article titled "What do I think about biometric proof of personhood?" to discuss his views on proving personal identity through biometric characteristics. V God stated that this is a valuable but complex tool that the Ethereum community has been trying to build. He mentioned several projects attempting to address this issue, such as Proof of Humanity, BrightID, Idena, Circles, and a larger and more ambitious identity proof project called Worldcoin. However, Worldcoin has faced criticism due to privacy and security concerns with its device, design issues with its token, and ethical concerns regarding choices made by the company.
V God concluded by saying that there is no ideal form of identity proof, but at least three different paradigmatic approaches exist, each with its own unique advantages and disadvantages. The ideal approach is to view these three technologies as complementary and combine them.
In principle, the concept of proving personal identity seems highly valuable. While each implementation method carries risks, a world without any form of identity proof also poses risks. A world without identity proof seems more likely to be dominated by centralized identity solutions, money, small closed communities, or some combination of the three. V God expressed anticipation for further progress on all types of identity proof and hopes to see different approaches eventually converge into a coherent whole.
