Today, CoinList announced the launch of the DePIN project Meson Network.

Meson Network taps into the hot DePIN trend and is in a leading position in the decentralized bandwidth trading market, with a large number of users and node resources. The project originated as a decentralized storage business and later gradually expanded its service scope to include social, blockchain and artificial intelligence data collection areas.

Token sale information

Meson’s native token is called MSN. The token sale will start at 18:00 UTC on February 8, 2024 (i.e. 02:00 am on February 9, Beijing time). The details are as follows:

  • Price: US$1.75/piece

  • Lock-up period: 1/6 will be unlocked around March 15, 2024, and the remaining tokens will be unlocked every month within 6 months.

  • Initial purchase limit: minimum USD 50, maximum USD 3,000, USDT, USDC only.

Note: Meson may, at its sole discretion, provide an additional 2,500,000 MSN tokens (2.5% of the total supply) for this sale during this sale period.

  • Purchase qualification: Before the registration deadline (UTC time on February 5 at 12:00, Beijing time on February 5 at 20:00), the users CoinList wallet holds the minimum purchase amount (50 USDT or USDC). This sale is not open to residents of the United States, China, Canada, South Korea and certain other jurisdictions.

Token usage

As the incentive and governance token of Meson Network, the total supply of MSN is 100, 000, 000. Its main functions are as follows:

  • Reward miners;

  • Miner pledge;

  • As a payment method for users;

  • Participate in protocol governance (vote on the development or modification of protocol parameters);

  • Tokens are distributed to miners as a reward for providing server resources.

Currently, since the transfer function of Meson test tokens on Ethereum is locked, there is no benefit for staking tokens. Users of the service will pay through MSN for additional bandwidth. These tokens are then rewarded to miners through buybacks.

Meson’s official website shows that its total number of nodes has exceeded 100,000, currently 115,194 nodes, and its IDCs are widely distributed around the world. It has a bandwidth capacity of approximately 20 Tb/s and an average latency of 90 ms.

Mesons protocol model provides flexibility and scalability, aiming to create a decentralized bandwidth market. Under Mesons model, users can exchange their remaining bandwidth for tokens to facilitate those in need to access global bandwidth resources. How Meson works

Another business scenario of Meson is the ledger data of the increasingly large Web3 network.

For example, BNB Chain uses Meson Networks global node distribution to shorten the state snapshot synchronization time on the entire chain. The transaction data of BNB Chain has already exceeded 2.5 TB, and it takes about 20 hours to synchronize snapshot data between different nodes. Therefore, synchronizing data among BNB Chain nodes located around the world has always been a tedious task, but with Meson enabled, the time for synchronizing snapshots of the entire network is shortened to about 1 hour.

Gateway X It is a gateway service provided by Meson, which acts as a bridge between Web3 such as Arweave/IPFS and traditional Web2. GatewayX provides developers with unlimited cache storage capacity and charges based on bandwidth usage.
