Web3 game and entertainment company Metatheory announced the completion of a new round of financing of US$24 million. This round of financing was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Pantera Capital, FTX Ventures, and Dragonfly Capital.

Founded by Kevin Lin, co-founder of Twitch, a live-streaming video platform for video games, Metatheory is currently developing its flagship project "DuskBreakers," a sci-fi series with two mini-games. The project uses NFTs that give ownership of DuskBreakers characters.

“After leaving Twitch to explore the next direction of the industry, I really believe that blockchain will open the door to many more possibilities and make a big impact in the field of games, storytelling and community building.” Lin said in a statement stated in the statement.

The NFT series is based on Ethereum and contains a total of 10,000 DuskBreakers NFTs. The current floor price is 0.27 ETH (about 560 US dollars), and only 9 NFTs are considered to be the "canon" of the DuskBreakers game plot, which means that No other NFT is part of the game's main narrative and storyline.
