In the early morning of April 27, Optimism, the Layer 2 expansion solution of Ethereum, officially announced that it will issue the native token OP and announced the relevant token economic model. According to the plan, the initial total supply of OP will be 4294967296 pieces, and the total supply will increase at a rate of 2% per year.
From the perspective of token distribution, the distribution of OP will be mainly divided into five parts, specifically:
The ecological fund allocates 25%,Used to stimulate the development of Optimism ecology, it will be further divided into governance fund (5.4%), partner fund (5.4%), seed fund (5.4%), and the remaining 8.8% has not yet been allocated.
RetroPGF allocates 20%,It is used to fund public affairs products that can help the ecology to develop further, but do not have a clear profit model like ordinary projects. This funding is expected to be implemented every quarter.
19% for core contributors,Used to reward those developers who helped Optimism from concept to implementation.
Investors allocate 17%,In early 2020, Optimism received $3.5 million in seed round financing from Paradigm and IDEO. In February 2021, a16z led Optimism’s $25 million Series A investment. In March this year, Optimism was valued at $1.65 billion. Completed $150 million Series B financing, co-led by a16z and Paradigm.

According to the official description, a total of 264,000 addresses are eligible for airdrop in the Airdrop #1 phase. Specifically, Airdrop #1 will incentivize the following six behaviors:

Optimism users:The requirement is to have cross-chained from L1 to Optimism in the early stage of the mainnet (before June 23, 2021), or used Optimism for more than 1 day (at least 24 hours between the first and last transaction) and have conducted with Dapps There are a total of 109003 addresses in this part of the interaction, and each address can get 727.36 OP.
2. Active Optimism users:The requirement is to meet the conditions of "Optimism users" and have at least 1 transaction with Dapps on Optimism within four different natural weeks. This part will only select the top 20% of eligible "Optimism users". This part of the address 20439 in total, 1584.42 OP per address (not counting 727.36 from Optimism users)
3. DAO governance participants:The requirement is to have voted or authored at least one on-chain proposal, or at least two snapshot (off-chain) proposals, and Optimism will filter out "active DAOs" with at least 5 proposals and at least 5 votes. There are a total of 82285 addresses in this part , each address can get 254.45 OP.
4. Multi-Sig Signer:The requirement is that you still need to be a multi-signer and have executed at least 10 transactions. There are 19543 addresses in this part, and each address can get 1114.23 OP.
5. Gitcoin Donors:The requirement is to have made on-chain donations through Gitcoin (Note: Donations need to be performed through the Ethereum mainnet). There are 24,143 addresses in this part, and each address can get 520.34 OP.
6. Loyal Ethereum users:The requirement is that the address has been bridged to another chain, but still interacts with Dapps on Ethereum every month after the bridge, and has an average of at least 2 transactions per week thereafter. This part will only select the top 60% of eligible addresses There are 74296 addresses in this part, and each address can get 383.27 OP.
It is worth mentioning that the behavior conditions rewarded by the airdrop are cumulative, which means that a single address can meet multiple behavior conditions and get more OP airdrop rewards.When 4 conditions are met, Optimism will give an additional 3913.29 OP as a reward; when 5 conditions are met, Optimism will give an additional 12994.18 OP as a reward; when all 6 conditions are met, Optimism will give an additional 25769.80 OP as a reward, which also means that the maximum airdrop reward theoretically obtainable by a single address is 30353.91 OP.
