EOS is definitely not dead, EOS is not Block.one.

In the short three months since I first officially announced the establishment of the EOS Network Foundation, I believe we have propelled EOS into a new genesis.

While we still have a long way to go, the progress we've made is very encouraging. We will continue to work together as a community towards our collective goals. The future of EOS has never been brighter.

For Chinese media and KOL: EOS Network Foundation's first online meeting

On November 3, 2021, the EOS Network Foundation organized its first official online meeting with the EOS community since its inception.

This meeting is a targeted invitational event that is only open to Chinese media and community opinion leaders. In this event, we introduced the original intention and functions of the EOS Network Foundation, and discussed the current status of EOS, the core development of EOSIO, our long-term vision for EOS and the roadmap of how we can achieve this vision, etc. .

Instead of simply recapping the event in this blog update, I encourage everyone to watch the event in its entirety to capture a complete perspective of everything presented and discussed.

Based on the positive feedback from the EOS China ecosystem and the success of this online event, we plan to hold more similar events in the future, which will be open to the entire EOS community and the broader blockchain ecosystem.

Positive reports about EOS from outside media

For a long time, this is the first time that most of the media has reported and discussed EOS in a positive way. After the EOS Network Foundation online conference, Yahoo Finance, CoinTelegraph, CoinDesk and other mainstream media published more than 40 different articles and videos covering EOS.

While some articles and videos have titles that are taken out of context, or miss the internal context of what is happening in the EOS ecosystem, two things have been clearly understood by the broader blockchain community:

  • 1. EOS is definitely not dead.

  • 2. EOS is not Block.one.

EOS is a growing ecosystem that, for the first time in its history, has the ability to lead, coordinate, organize, and pool resources to fund its ecosystem growth. We are moving in a positive direction, and we are constantly accumulating winning chips.

ENF Wave 3 and 4 Ecological Support Program: $1.3 million in recognition grants

While on the topic of victory, I would like to congratulate the 13 projects selected for the third and fourth wave of the EOS Network Foundation Recognition Grant Award. These 13 projects will each receive $100,000 worth of EOS.

Since late September, the EOS Network Foundation has awarded bounties to dozens of projects in recognition of their support of EOS through some of the more difficult times over the years.

Earlier this week, the EOS Network Foundation released the third wave of recognition grants, covering projects in the EOS ecosystem that have laid the foundation for Play to Earn, social and gaming development.

Seventh Advisory Board Member Joins EOS Network Foundation

The EOS Network Foundation Board of Advisors (BoA) Advisory Board is composed of 7 members. It is the controller of the overall development direction of the EOS Foundation and plays an important role in realizing the vision of the EOS Foundation.

BoA has a particularly strong business acumen, unparalleled data analysis capabilities, and a very deep and comprehensive understanding of the EOS ecosystem, which is very helpful when providing core development suggestions to the EOS Network Foundation. The Board is also responsible for reviewing funding grants and sponsorship proposals, and providing critical feedback and overall direction to the EOS Network Foundation.

At present, 6 leaders have been confirmed to join the committee, and there is still a vacancy for members of the advisory committee. The chain ecosystem seeks suitable talents and discovers potential candidates for the seventh fund advisory board member.

After going through community nominations and multiple rounds of selection surveys, I'm happy to announce that I've found the right candidate. The EOS Network Foundation and its board of directors recently extended an invitation to Damian Byon, former CCO of ITAM Games and South Korean blockchain producer AcroEOS, to join, and he has accepted. Damian has provided invaluable strategic advice and support since joining the EOS Network Foundation Board of Directors.

ENF Advisory Board List:

  • Damian Byon: Former CCO of ITAM Games and AcroEOS

  • Aaron Cox: Founder of Greymas

  • Dafeng Guo: Founder of EOS Asia and Strikingly

  • Fu Pan: Founder and CEO of TockenPocket

  • Peter Watt: Newdex project leader

  • Van Kai: Co-Founder and Leader of EOS Cannon

  • Wen Huaqiang: Initiator and senior developer of CryptoKylin

Pomelo Now Accepting Funding Proposals

On November 7, Pomelo, the second crowdfunding platform for the EOS ecosystem, was officially launched. As the official channel for the EOS Network Foundation to apply for funds, the ecological support projects subdivided by the Pomelo platform include infrastructure, development tools, art and media, community, education, security, ecosystem growth, DeFi, governance, privacy and other categories. You can apply for the first batch of supporting funds for ecological infrastructure construction projects worth US$500,000 through the Pomelo.io official website.

So far we have seen over 20 proposals submitted by community members and teams presenting their ideas for public infrastructure products to the wider EOS ecosystem.

I believe Pomelo will be a very powerful tool to incentivize hundreds if not thousands of people to work within the EOS ecosystem through funding and empowerment to drive the development of EOS.

Now, anyone in the EOS community can apply for funding for any kind of public infrastructure product, including marketing, open source code, community building, education, hosting events, hackathons, and other activities that add value to EOS.

Pomelo is a core pillar of the EOS Network Foundation and will play an important role in the EOS ecosystem. To learn more about the significance of Pomelo to the EOS community, please read my article "EOS Foundation and Pomelo: Building a Public Foundation and Inspiring Network Value".

The EOS Network Foundation officially migrated the community to EOS Discord

The EOS community Discord server was recently launched, and the number of members has reached 1400+, and it continues to grow every day.

It is very important for the success of the ever-growing EOS ecosystem to provide new community members with top-level user experience and diverse ecological joining channels.

By providing community members with topic-organized discussion channels, advanced bot integration, threaded conversations, VoIP chat, EOS customer support, and user resources, Discord has many distinct advantages over Telegram.

During my time in the EOS community, the EOS community has basically been gathering in Telegram, but over the past year or two, we've seen how and where the cryptocurrency community gathers has changed as Discord has played a role in shaping the community increasingly important role.

This is not surprising, because the world closest to cryptocurrency may be the world of online games, and Discord hopes to bridge the communication gap between real life and the virtual world of online games in order to better serve this world.

next step

next step

For EOS to be successful, the EOS Network Foundation cannot bear all the problems by itself, nor can it try to solve all the problems by itself. Fortunately, we have worked in the EOS ecosystem for many years, understand its many needs, and have identified many top talents who can help our work.

There are many outstanding talents in the EOS ecosystem. They have basically participated in the three-year work. In the future work, we need these talents to contribute their wisdom and serve the development of the EOS ecosystem.

The EOS Network Foundation has made an initial investment of over $1 million to form a sponsored working group comprised of senior leaders within the EOS ecosystem in their areas of expertise. These working groups are tasked with defining the EOS development roadmap to address the many pain points and challenges EOS is currently facing, and we will continue to fulfill our mission of enabling developers, businesses and individuals to build on EOS.

In next week’s blog update, I’ll take a deep dive into who’s involved in these working groups, what they mean for the EOS ecosystem and future development, and what the community can expect from these working groups’ collective efforts.
