Last year, we announced a partnership with Solana[1] to bring web-scale smart contracts to Akash's decentralized and open-source cloud platform (DeCloud).
As we shared, Akash users will be able to take advantage of Solana’s ultra-performance platform to run secure and scalable smart contracts and pay with Akash Token (AKT). Users of Solana will be able to use Solana Token (SOL) to run distributed applications (such as machine learning or web applications) and settlements on Akash.
To advance our integration and accelerate the development of Web3 and DeFi applications, we are excited to co-sponsor the Solana Season Hackathon!
The Solana Season Hackathon will start on Saturday, May 15th and last until June 7th, 2021, and will be held around the world including in China, India, Eastern Europe, and Brazil, with tracks including DeFi, Web3, and nft.
Each track has its own supporting program, panel of judges, offline workshops and events, and first, second and third place winners. Prizes include up to $1 million and seed funding.
A unique Solana Season Hackathon where we offer up to $15,000 in grants and four challenges for the Eastern European circuit. However, developers from all regions are welcome to submit and be eligible for an award.
Our challenges include:
challenge 1
Deploy an open-source application on the Akash mainnet2. Submit a deployment file (deploy.yml) to Akash for inclusion in the awesome Akash repo[2] for a chance at a grant.
Akash's support team will provide tokens to fund the project during the hackathon, and if funded, there will be opportunities for continued sponsorship in the future.
challenge 2
Deploy an open-source application on the Akash mainnet2 and combine it with a single decentralized storage solution.
Akash's support team will be offering tokens to fund the project's wallet during and after the hackathon. Submit an SDL file (deploy.yml) to Akash for inclusion in the Akash repo You can use any decentralized storage solution (such as Sia, Filebase, ColdStack, Filecoin, Storj), you can also use any existing open source project.
challenge 3
A gateway (bridge) is developed between the Akash and Solana[3] blockchains for direct exchange.
challenge 4
Develop an integration between Akash and Torus[4] or other login solutions.
