We had the chance to speak with Leo Li, CEO of HashQuark and pioneer of the staking ecosystem, to get his thoughts on PoS blockchain proponents and what they value when partnering with new projects.

HashQuark is one of the largest validators in the world - what was HashQuark's start and how has it evolved?
HashQuark originally launched in late 2018 as a staking service provider offering attractive staking rewards to those who delegated their tokens to us. With the continuous development of the blockchain industry, our team is also growing. In addition to ordinary users, we have begun to serve enterprise-level customers and KOLs.
At this time, we realized the value of the blockchain infrastructure and decided to develop ourselves into a professional and all-round infrastructure service provider. While creating real value, we ensured proof of rights (PoS) through node operations and Support blockchain security.
We have included several high-quality PoS-supporting projects, and have cooperated with many enterprises and institutions in security, asset management, transactions, etc. With the help of a wide range of industry resources, we set out to diversify our business, including node operations, commissioned services, node setup guides, and dedicated tools and products for different projects.
HashQuark supports all major Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains. From a company level, why is it more important to support PoS blockchains than Proof of Work (PoW)?
We had a high opinion of the PoS blockchain even before its official launch for several reasons:
We believe that the blockchain will create a distributed business counterpart parallel to the physical business. However, for now, it is widely believed that most PoW blockchains are poorly performant and not very friendly to ordinary users; this is certainly a major obstacle to mass adoption and promotion of use cases in the commercial sector. In contrast, consensus mechanisms like PoS do a better job in the above aspects.
PoS now represents a major trend in the blockchain world, as can be seen from the launch of so many high-quality projects such as ETH2.0, Polkadot, Cardano, and Akash.
There is still a lot to be discovered and developed in the staking economy. We are very happy to witness and grow together with this promising industry at the beginning of everything. As an important part of the DeFi system, staking is bound to continue to develop with the prosperity of DeFi, which is why we have always spoken highly of its future development.
HashQuark currently supports Eth 2.0, Binance, Polkadot, Cardano and other networks. How did you choose to collaborate on projects and what attracted you to partner with Akash Network?
When evaluating a project, we look at three aspects:
Mainnet launch: We are more inclined to PoS projects that have launched the mainnet, because it means that its technology is mature, and block producers and representatives can participate in the pledge.
DApps: Let's see if DApps run on top of its distributed system. This part of the investigation is because we believe that the significance of the staking economy is not just staking services. Decentralized applications help form truly successful and scalable blockchain projects.
Community: Finally, we are looking for a high-quality community for development. Consensus among the community is what we believe is important in the staking economy - or rather, in the blockchain industry.
We were attracted by Akash's concept of decentralized open source cloud, and realized the significance and necessity of DeCloud in the entire blockchain industry. Akash is cheaper, more efficient, and more flexible, while HashQuark has expertise in blockchain infrastructure and is a solid foundation for a decentralized cloud. We believe that our cooperation will help to provide decentralized cloud services.
What types of blockchain/cryptocurrency projects are you currently interested in and why?
At present, we are very interested in DeFi and NFT projects in the popular industry. These two projects are good applications of blockchain and have also attracted some traditional institutions.
How do you think blockchain will change the world?
We've seen an overwhelming digital and virtual tendency over our physical reality, especially after 2020. Undoubtedly, in a more digital and virtualized world, identity is something that cannot be missed. Only the value Internet based on blockchain can truly realize such a system. A few years ago, the World Economic Forum predicted that by 2025, 10% of the world's assets would be blockchain-based. This is also our vision of the future world in terms of blockchain.
If you had the chance to give your younger self one piece of advice as you started out in the blockchain world, what would you do?
Always have faith in blockchain and Bitcoin.
How can everyone start earning rewards or staking AKT[2] today?
Generally, there are two ways: delegation or node operation. But for most ordinary players, we recommend the former due to limited access to relevant resources and technical knowledge.
