At the press conference, Dominic Williams, founder and chief scientist of DFINITY, delivered a keynote speech on "The World's First Blockchain Computer with Infinite Scalability and Running at Network Speed".

According to Dominic Williams, the Internet Computer is the third innovation in the blockchain field. The first major innovation is Bitcoin, which is also the oldest cryptocurrency, which plays the role of digital gold; the second major innovation is Ethereum, whose biggest innovation is the introduction of smart contracts, so that digital gold can be used for decentralization financial system; now, the Internet Computer (Internet Computer) appeared. Hi, my name is Dominic Williams from DFINITY. In this speech, I will give you a brief introduction to the Internet Computer (Internet Computer) blockchain network in 5 minutes. Next, we officially begin!

The purpose of the Internet Computer project is to expand the Internet and make it more powerful.

Today, the Internet is a network that connects everyone and everything. However, their systems and services are currently run over private infrastructure - with the exception of DeFi on Ethereum.

The Internet Computer (Internet Computer) blockchain is designed to enable the public Internet to host smart contracts that run at high speeds without being limited by carrying capacity, so that it can host a wider range of systems and services.
