Further Stress Tests in Week 3 of the Filecoin Space Race
The Filecoin Space Race has entered its third week, and the Filecoin network will conduct further stress tests to evaluate the network's overall response to failures and updates.
The specific schedule for this week is as follows:
On September 7th (Tuesday in some areas), Filecoin will start updating a small chain to test the overall update speed. It is expected that the nodes can be updated to the new chain state within a few hours. This will demonstrate how quickly the network can react to bugs and mainnet attacks. (The window maintenance period will start at 3:00 on September 8th, Beijing time, the Lotus 0.5. at 15:00)
If the previous step goes well, a simple version of Drand's network-wide outage will be triggered on Wednesday, September 9th to test the network's ability to respond to errors. Drand is a highly resilient and random beacon that can be used to determine whether the Filecoin network can successfully recover from a network suspension.
On September 10th (Friday in some regions), the complexity of the upgrade will be tested, the Filecoin network can handle more complex role upgrades, and tools will also be included to make future upgrades easier.

Filecoin updates economic parameters: 20-day delay in block reward unlocking
Filecoin officially released the economic coefficient update announcement.
The announcement shows:
The initial value of the baseline is increased and the growth rate is adjusted downward to stimulate economic development more permanently.
The 20-day delay in unlocking block rewards will be removed, and the unlocking will start immediately after mining.
The sector fault detection fee and sector termination fee are lowered to reduce the risk of miners' operation and maintenance.
The minimum storage order pledge has been lowered, making paid orders more attractive.
The sector failure fee is actually low, but due to consideration of the early stage of the network, it will not be raised temporarily.
Filecoin founder: Big miners need to pay attention to Filecoin's basic handling fees
Regarding the recent rising cost of Filecoin Gas, Filecoin founder Juan Bennett said in the Slack community:
It is necessary to pay attention to the basic fee of Filecoin and use the latest message filtering code (0.6.0+). At the same time, miners cannot add some blocks that do not belong there in order to change the basic handling fee rate, otherwise the basic handling fee will increase. And it will cause this week's FIL to be destroyed.

Filecoin announces new second round of space race
Filecoin released a new "Start the second round of space race" notice. It is expected to start on September 15, Beijing time, and end on October 6, which will last for three weeks.
There will be no prize pool for "effective computing power" in the second space race, and the total reward will exceed 4.6 million FIL coins in the first space race.
No storage capacity prize pool
The order success rate still requires to meet the qualified standard
Soon to restore new miner faucet
Part of the sectors successfully encapsulated and maintained by the miners will be directly mapped to the main network, and the transferred sectors do not need to be re-staked
The FIL obtained by miners in mining will be converted into main network FIL according to a certain ratio

Filecoin Space Race Successfully Unlocked 1.5 Million FIL Rewards
Filecoin Space Race currently has a raw byte storage capacity of 200TiB, that is, the final reward of 1.5 million FIL has been unlocked. According to previous news, the first round of Filecoin's big miner competition will end at 6 am on September 15th, Beijing time.
