Yesterday morning, a slightly strange large transfer caught our attention.
This transaction, which occurred on the morning of March 11, had 28 inputs on the input side, with a total amount of 1000 BTC, and the output address was 3CU4AYJH23ePNnKsycinP5TSogCNGsyqCc. 14 minutes after the 1,000 BTC was transferred, it was transferred from the address starting with 3CU4 to 55 different addresses, and finally flowed into multiple exchanges including Coinbase, OKEx, and Huobi.
Under the recent violent fluctuations in the market, these two transactions seem to be unremarkable, but if we go deep into the 28 addresses on the input side of the first transaction, we find that these are all coinbase from August to October 2010 (block Reward) pick up address. In other words, most of these 1,000 bitcoins have not been transferred since they were mined in 2010. This series of transactions came from an early miner in 2010, and these bitcoins have not been transferred for 10 years.
Within hours of this transfer, Bitcoin fell from $8,000 to around $7,500, which should also be due to the 1,000 BTC.
Judging from the flow results of our use of Biteye, a considerable part of the 1000 BTC has entered exchanges such as OKEx, Coinbase, and Huobi.
The output side of this transfer is very regular. 53 of the 55 outputs have an amount of 15 BTC, and all of them start with bc1q. Except for one output that pays the handling fee, the amount is less than 5 BTC, and only one address format is different from the amount. That is 1MPbs4TYnHMbfAKqGmW6CVeoJGX44cMiDG. This address got 200BTC out of the 1000. After our tracking, this address probably belongs to Coinbase.
