On September 25, Bayer (Crop Science) and Ant Blockchain announced a strategic cooperation. Ant said that this is the first in-depth application of Ant Blockchain in the agricultural field.
Bayer (Crop Science) is one of the world's largest seed and pesticide companies. Bayer AG of Germany is a company with a history of 150 years. Its pillar industries include agricultural technology, medicine and health care, chemicals and polymers.
According to Ant Financial, agricultural materials such as seeds, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers are the basic means of production for farmers and agriculture. Once fake agricultural materials are bought, farmers and consumers will suffer huge losses. In the past, the industry could only rely on methods such as experience identification and anti-counterfeiting marking; now the blockchain can be used to solve this problem.
The ant blockchain not only provides commodity traceability to ensure the authenticity and traceability of agricultural materials such as seeds and pesticides, but also includes the acquisition, verification, and tamper-proof of key node data in the entire industrial chain. At the same time, after going online, the production process of farmers will be digitized and capitalized. Ant will use Alibaba's ecological resources to provide sales, credit and other services for downstream companies of Bayer Biotechnology.
Take the Dangshan crispy pears in Bayer's demonstration base as an example. After the farmers' products have been traced and verified, they can directly enter Tmall for supply. The agricultural technology provided by Bayer solves the quality and purchase requirements.
In summary, the cooperation with Bayer is divided into three levels, including traceability of agricultural products and pesticides based on blockchain; inclusive finance improves the penetration rate in rural areas through industrial chain data; the third is agricultural e-commerce .
According to official data, Ant Blockchain has successfully implemented 40 application scenarios, including commodity traceability, public welfare traceability, cross-border remittance, supply chain finance, and electronic bills; more than 500 blockchain patents have been applied for.
