Analysis: Fed may change stance as labor data cools
5 hours ago
Odaily News NatAlliance Securities analyst Andy Brenner wrote that a recent string of weak labor market data could bring the Fed closer to a shift to an easing policy stance. But this week may still be too early. "We still think Powell is close to an inflection point, which may have to wait until July," Brenner wrote before the Fed's June meeting. "In our view, the employment situation remains very shaky, the employment data is questionable, and a major revision is in the works... But just as Washington has done for years on budget issues, the Fed may just drag the problem out for another month." (Jin Shi)
