Coinbase co-founder poaches Neuralink to launch ultrasound brain health device to challenge Musk
06-10 12:54
Odaily News Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam has become the latest Silicon Valley billionaire to join the brain health industry. His startup Nudge has hired at least eight former employees of Musk's Neuralink. Unlike Neuralink's technology of implanting chips in the brain, Ehrsam's Nudge aims to develop a consumer-grade head-mounted device that uses ultrasound technology to achieve the goal of "one-click treatment of brain diseases, improvement of mood and sleep aid." Scientists point out that the company's technical solutions and the scientific principles behind them are still controversial, but Ehrsam, as the founder of Coinbase, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, his successful experience and strong financial resources (the Billionaires Index shows that he is worth at least $3.2 billion) may make him a strong competitor in this field.
