SBF asks judge to investigate $200-300 million Alameda loan involving FTX co-founder Gary Wang

Odaily News According to a legal filing, lawyers for FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) want to ask FTX co-founder Gary Wang whether he relied on legal advice when agreeing to a series of loans related to hedge fund Alameda Research. Prosecutors have investigated Gary Wangs estimated $200 million to $300 million in loans from Alameda Research, which he used to make venture capital investments and buy himself a home in the Bahamas. The SBF argued the lawyers involvement showed he was unaware the companys loans were improper and asked Judge Lewis Kaplan for permission to question Wang on the issue. Gary Wang is expected to complete his testimony later on Tuesday, followed by Caroline Ellison, the former head of Alameda Research and SBFs ex-girlfriend. Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison have both pleaded guilty and are cooperating with investigators. (CoinDesk)
