Odaily News U.S. Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan on Tuesday rejected SBF’s repeated motions for pretrial release. SBF had previously been free on bail, but a Southern District of New York judge revoked his bail last month after finding he had tried to tamper with witnesses at least twice. Two of the SBFs attorneys, Mark Cohen and Christian Everdell, argued in written submissions and at the virtual hearing that the SBF needed to access much of the evidentiary material that can only be accessed through an online database and contribute to a shared document detailing its work. contribute. The judge said that neither the SBF nor any other defendant had the right to inspect all evidentiary materials. And SBF has a large number of very capable legal representatives who can handle these materials. Both prosecutors and defense requested a trial in September or October, and the judge agreed. The trial is currently scheduled to begin on October 3. (CoinDesk)
